Health equity priority areas

The Center for Health Equity and Community Knowledge in Urban Populations focuses on three health equity priority areas: 

  • Cancer Control
  • Heart Health
  • Mental Health

Our research networks promote collaboration across communities and WSU to address these health equity priority areas. Using shared resources such as assessment, data intergration, and analysis, intervention scirnce, practice-based research, advocacy and policy practive, grant and publication support, and career and leadership development, we hope to promote stronger health outcomes for those living in the Detroit metrolpolitan area. Our research networks include the following populations: 

  • Black Health and Racial Equity
  • LGBTQ Health
  • MENA, Refugee, and Immigrant Health
